The Westin Desaru Coast Resort

The staffs were exceptionally friendly and they are such a delight to meet every single time..

There is not much to do in Desaru so the quality of the hotel was most important to us. Westin was very nice, really near the beach. Too bad the infinity pool was under renovation during our stay and we didn't really want to swim in the other landscaped pool. We would have brought our own foldable bikes if we had known there was a nice cycling track round the property. They had good bicycles for hire (first hour free) but most were taken. The hotel front desk suggested an upgrade to a partial sea view which was worth the MYR50 extra. Quite happy with that. Room was spacious and very clean. Just across the property is another hotel which had a live band and the hotel offered a buggy ride, but we realised it was so near we were happy to take a stroll back after drinks there. The service level at Westin is awesome. Super friendly staff always ready to help, as expected of Marriott group. We are fussy travellers and they met our expectations. I would stay at Westin again with larger family if we want to visit Desaru again.

The staffs are very friendly and their service was excellent. From the moment we booked our rooms; they keep in contact with us to check our arrival timing so that we will have smooth check-in. Knowing it is my kid birthday; they even went extra mile to do simple decoration for us and a cake. My son loved the room decoration. Every where we go, all the hotel staffs would greet us with a warm, friendly smile. On our last day. We accidentally left behind a handphone and forgotten about it; and they contacted us to see if we were still nearby and returned it to us. Due to the wet weather, we did not get to go out for many activities; but the excellent services and good foods; had warmed our hearts and made our 3 days vacation very enjoyable. For those with kids, can register with the hotel for the fruit farm tour. Besides the opportunity to learn about types of fruits, the kids get to experience feeding and pat the animals. Thank you, Westin, for giving my family a warm and excellent stay. I will surely bring my family back there again.

I’ve been to Desaru a few times before, staying at Lotus, a nearby bungalow, and Hard Rock. This time, I stayed at Westin for the first time, and it was for a special occasion—celebrating my daughter’s birthday. We had a 3-night staycation, and it was superb! Shoutout to Azam for handling my check-in and check-out smoothly—very welcoming and polite. Our room had a lovely surprise with mini decorations, balloons, and a birthday message on the mirror. Plus, they even gave us mini cakes for the little princess! The breakfast buffet? More than awesome! So many choices—decent teh tarik lokal, kopi Kluang as a side coffee option, and a spread that kept my tummy full every morning. Nasi lemak, lamb, beef, roti canai, dim sum, omelets, fresh juices, nasi goreng, fruits—you name it, they had it! The hotel has two pools, and it’s beachfront. The new pool is kid-friendly, with warm water but a bit deep. The beach? Clean and well-maintained. One of the highlights for me was my morning run—did a 5km loop around Westin - Anantara - Waterpark - Hard Rock - back to Westin. Super chill, calm, and safe, with a designated jogging lane along the sidewalk. If you want to explore, there are plenty of shops just a 5-minute drive away—tomyam stalls, mamak spots, celup tepung restaurants, a supermarket, and even Mini Zoo Desaru. Everything is easily accessible and convenient. Parking is complimentary, which is a plus. Oh, and a big thanks again to Azam for the thoughtful gift for my little princess at checkout—she loved it! Definitely returning to Westin again for the staff, service, and overall experience.

Dinner buffet was great. Breakfast was great. Staff allowed earlier check in was great. Hotel amenities and facilities was great too. Shuttle bus to drop at waterpark was convenient as well. Great hotel for a relaxing getaway.
